Not only are the goings on in our village too bizarre for the Archers, they are sometimes too humorous as well. For instance, we have an Air Hostess living near us. She is universally known by the moniker 'Jetslag.' She finds it funny, as does mostly everyone else.
We also have a Margaret Baker. Known to one and all as Ma. So, we have a Ma Baker. Strangely, nobody comments about this. Perhaps I'm the only one to hear an echo of a prohibition era US gangster ?
Still, whether it's just me or whether it's everybody, The Archers just doesn't go for funny names.
Much too middle class, much too self important, much too boring.
